Access Hulu Outside Of The USA

If you want to access Hulu outside of the USA, it’s very simple to get started. Someone with no experience with computer technology can get started in just about ten minutes with a VPN.  Despite many web sites and blogs posting that Hotspot Shield and other anonymous proxy services can get you access to Hulu anywhere in the world, they have since been blocked and as of the writing of this article, the only way to get access to Hulu outside of the USA is through a VPN connection.

A VPN creates a tunnel between you (where ever you are in the world) and the VPN server (in this case in America, so we can watch Hulu). Not only is your data tunneled and the transfer of data between you and the server invisible, your data is also encrypted, meaning that if someone were to try to hack the “tunnel” they sill couldn’t see what data was being transferred – only that it was there.  This type of data encryption and tunneling is how a L2TP or OpenVPN protocol allows us to access Hulu outside of the USA.

If your head is already spinning from all the L2TP and SSL business, don’t worry, that’s as complicated as it gets. Actually, if you’re unsure what kind of VPN service is right for you, most places offer live support, if not, a five star email support (usually very quick, probably because they’re always on the computers anyway).  Simply tell them where you are, how much you’re looking to spend, what type of computer or smart phone you’re using, and what operating system you’re on. Don’t forget to mention that you want to access Hulu outside of the USA  Most of the time it will be divided into L2TP for mobile stuff and SSL for other stuff, but that’s just a general rule. There are other possibilities of VPN protocols of course, but most of the time these things don’t concern new users.

VPN’s are particularly good for accessing Hulu outside of the USA because they not only get you the American entertainment sites you’re looking to access, but they also make your Internet connection secure. That means that if you’re sharing an Internet connection with anyone, they will not be able to see or access your online data.  Particularly dangerous places would be public Internet zones like airports, cafes, bars, and schools, where it is very easy to see the data of other computers on the network.  For personal use at home, a VPN is not so necessary, but it can keep advertising companies at bay, as they will not be able to see cookies and web history to customize your advertisements.

Added security, anonymous surfing and the ability to access Hulu outside of the USA is the reason that many users are starting to use VPN’s while they surf the Internet.

About the Author

I use VPN’s to access Hulu outside of the USA as well as for my job. They’re a reliable way to keep your data safe, your IP address anonymous, and get you access to many IP restricted sites like Hulu, Netflix, and BBC iPlayer.
